verse-line
शान्ताकारं भुजगशयनं
Śāntākāraṃ Bhujaga-śayanaṃ
Of peaceful form, reclining upon the serpent,
पद्मनाभं सुरेशम् ।
Padmanābhaṃ Sureśam
lotus-naveled, lord of the gods,
विश्वाधारं गगनसदृशं
Viśvādhāraṃ Gagana-sadṛśaṃ
the support of the universe, boundless as the sky,
मेघवर्णं शुभाङ्गम् ॥
Meghavarṇaṃ Śubhāṅgam
of the hue of a cloud, of auspicious form,
लक्ष्मीकान्तं कमलनयनं
Lakṣmīkāntaṃ Kamala-nayanaṃ
beloved of Lakshmi, lotus-eyed,
योगिभिर्ध्यानगम्यम् ।
Yogibhir Dhyāna-gamyam
reached by yogis through meditation,
वन्दे विष्णुं भवभयहरं
Vande Viṣṇuṃ Bhava-bhaya-haraṃ
I salute Vishnu, remover of the fear of worldly existence,
सर्वलोकैकनाथम् ॥
Sarva-lokaika-nātham
the sole lord of every world.
